CSD The Cambridge Structural Database

Sba  has subscribed to The Cambridge Structural Database (CSD) for the 2024-2026 biennium.

It can be accessed either via the web (with proxy enabled if connecting externally to the University  network) or on desktop after special download (see below).
It is the most extensive data resource concerning the organic and metal-organic crystal structure of small molecules, published by the Cambridge Crystallographic Data Centre (CCDC), a non-profit organization based in the United Kingdom.
The CSD web database and related software is a key working tool in fields spanning crystallography, chemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, and nanotechnology, and is therefore aimed at chemists, biologists, physicists, and engineers in the areas of MFN sciences, engineering, and pharmaceutical sciences.

Today, with more than 1.25 million structures from experimental results and big data, CSD is used globally for scientific research on pharmaceuticals, functional materials, metal organic frameworks (MOFs) in both commercial and academic settings.

Available for our University, in addition to the web version, are 250 software downloads (win/linux/macOS, see info on system requirements and download links) that require an Activation key and a Licence customer Id. To get all the info needed to proceed with the download write an email to sedevallettapuggia@unige.it
The subscription is Academic user and gives access to the following data/analyses/views/facilities (opens a pdf file)

We report that a webinar  "Unlock the Potential of the CSD to Teach Chemistry and Crystallography" is scheduled for Thursday, 2024 June 6 at 4 p.m.: info and registration HERE.
